Beverly Jones Williams, M.S.  retired from North Carolina State University as the Director of Training and Education in the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED).  She served as the campus affiliate director for the NC State National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) team and oversaw the Equal Opportunity Institute, both of which are award-winning diversity education programs. She also established the Foundations of Cultural Competence and Inclusivity certificate program for NC State University faculty.  Additionally, she developed and co-instructed Foundations of Cultural Competence and Leadership and Coalition Building in Diverse Communities undergraduate academic classes.

Ms. Williams has presented programs on diversity for over 35 years.  The NC Museum of Natural Sciences selected her to be a cultural conversation facilitator for the Race: Are We So Different exhibit where she facilitated dialogues on race for community participants.  Beverly serves as a national facilitator and campus consultant for NCBI.  She supports NCBI campus teams at the University of Iowa, Medical College of Wisconsin, Salem State University, and Appalachian State University, and the NCBI chapter at UNC Hospitals. She serves as associate director of the NCBI Carolina Coalition and has led NCBI leadership training for several college and community organizations.

During her 33 year tenure at NC State, she served in a variety of roles in University Housing and in Training and Organizational Development in Human Resources. Ms. Williams has spent many years training students, faculty, and staff on a variety of topics in addition to diversity, including leadership, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution and career exploration.  She developed and presented unconscious bias training in partnership with the campus police department. She is a qualified Cultural intelligence (CQ) administrator and Intercultural Development Inventory administrator.  She is also a certified mediator and conducts meditation for the North Carolina Office of Human Resources. She received a B.A. in Speech Communication and M.S. in College Student Personnel Services from Miami University in Ohio.
